Softball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Sofia Parodi and Pippa Gerharz Lead Senn to Victory

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Northside, Senn was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They never let the Lake View Wildcats get on the board and left with an 11-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Bulldogs, who have now won four games by ten runs or more so far this season.

Gabrielle Smith made a big impact no matter where she played. She kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 13 over six innings pitched. Those 13 strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 3-for-4.

In other batting news, Senn let Pippa Gerharz and Sofia Parodi run wild. Gerharz scored two runs and stole four bases while going 1-for-3, while Parodi scored a run and stole three bases while going 2-for-4. Ericka Ako was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two triples and one run.

Senn was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lake View only posted a batting average of .000.

Senn's victory bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Lake View, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-4.

Looking ahead, Senn will challenge Prosser at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Falcons have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 16.5 runs per game on average), something the Bulldogs will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Lake View, they will welcome Chicago Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Wildcats' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Cougars have averaged an impressive 15 runs per game this season.
