Softball Recap: Boone Grove Comes Up Short

Boone Grove and Andrean squared off in some playoff action on Monday, but Boone Grove had to settle for second. They came up short against the Fighting 59ers, falling 10-2. The Wolves were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Fighting 59ers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2023.

Boone Grove saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mercedes Szakacs, who went 2-for-3 with one run.

Boone Grove has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 15-13 record this season. As for Andrean, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-7 record this season.

Boone Grove does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Andrean, they will challenge Whiting at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
