Volleyball Game Preview: Pecatonica Vikings vs. Black Hawk Warriors

Pecatonica is 9-1 against Black Hawk since September of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Vikings will head out on the road to face off against the Warriors at 7:00 p.m. Considering both teams were shutout in their prior games, the pair is probably coming into this one with something to prove.

Pecatonica is headed into the matchup having just suffered their biggest loss since October 26, 2024 on Tuesday. They lost 3-0 to Argyle. Considering the last time the Vikings couldn't score was back in September, the team can't take the result too hard.

While Pecatonica was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the third set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 25-18, 25-23.

Meanwhile, Black Hawk was not able to break out of their rough patch last Tuesday as the team picked up their 13th straight defeat dating back to last season. They came up short against Barneveld, falling 3-0.

The final score came out to 25-12, 25-16, 25-11.

Black Hawk's loss dropped their record down to 0-12. As for Pecatonica, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-7.

Pecatonica took their win against Black Hawk in their previous matchup back in September by a conclusive 3-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Vikings since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
