Baseball Recap: Notre Dame Prep Wins Going Away Against Kolbe-Cathedral

Notre Dame Prep barely beat Kolbe-Cathedral the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Lancers put the hurt on the Cougars with a sharp 11-2 victory on Saturday. The Lancers have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Cougars, too.

David Parniawski made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He struck out ten batters over 6.1 innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits. Those ten strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one triple and two RBI.

In other batting news, Robbie Van Scoy was a standout: he went a perfect 3-for-3 with two doubles, two RBI, and one run. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April. Jake Lippert was another key player, going 1-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double.

With the win, Notre Dame Prep broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 12-15. As for Kolbe-Cathedral, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-6.
