Baseball Recap: Elizabeth Continues Home Dominance on Tuesday

While Elizabeth's win against Union wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Minutemen skirted past the Farmers 6-4. The Minutemen haven't had any issues with the Farmers recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Ian Acevedo made a splash no matter where he played. He pitched 5.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits. Acevedo was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with three RBI. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Jaime Tamayo was excellent, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

Elizabeth's win was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-4. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.4 runs over those games. As for Union, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 11 of their last 12 matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-14 record this season.

Elizabeth will take on Johnson at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Union, they will face off against Governor Livingston at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
