Soccer Recap: St. Mary's Takes a Loss

St. Mary lost against Lamar back in September of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Pirates came up short against the Thunder, falling 9-0. While losing is never fun, St. Mary's can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado soccer rankings (they are ranked 219th, while Lamar are ranked 92nd).

St. Mary's loss dropped their record down to 0-12. As for Lamar, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 9-3.

Coming up, St. Mary's will face off against Salida at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. St. Mary's defense better be ready for this one: Salida have averaged an impressive 3.8 goals per game this season. As for Lamar, they will square off against Manitou Springs at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. This will be Lamar's first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
