League recap: Seaton throws longest pass in league this season for Highland

Joseph Seaton and Kris Trujillo provided fans with a highlight when they connected against Wray. The connection was good for 70 yards, the longest such play in 1A North Central this season.

Resurrection Christian was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from fifth to third in the league. Earlier in the week, the Cougars defeated Cornerstone Christian Academy 57-30.

Luke George made the biggest impact on defense this week as the Eagles defeated Highland. The 5-foot-8 sophomore pulled down one interception.

Cade Reinick was the most productive running back in the league this week. In 10 carries, he ran for 106 yards as Wray lost to Wray. Teammate Alec Ellis added to the ground attack by rushing for 54 yards.

Trujillo was the best wideout in 1A North Central this week as Highland fell to Levi Kramer's team. Trujillo tallied two receptions for 80 yards.

Luke Mondt put up the best numbers through the air as Resurrection Christian bested the Bulldogs. He finished with 13 completions for 137 yards and four touchdowns. Mondt's favorite target this week was Jake Lohr, who caught seven passes for 78 yards.

Rich Yonker's team's Mondt and Lohr have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Mondt has thrown for 1383 yards this season, while Lohr, a 6-foot-1 receiver, has 34 catches for 499 yards. Wiggins's Thayer Sauter leads the league in rushing yards with 1135.

A big matchup in the league this week will be when the Cougars take on the Eagles. Resurrection Christian is in third place, while Wray is in first place.

There should be lots of points scored when the Cougars and the Eagles face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, Resurrection Christian comes in having scored 251 this season, while Wray has scored 232. The Cougars scored 57 points last week as they beat Cornerstone Christian Academy.

The Eagles extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Alan Overton's team, 56-6. This was the team's sixth consecutive win.
