Basketball Recap: Nease Panthers vs. Flagler Palm Coast Bulldogs

After flying high against Beachside last Thursday, Nease came back down to earth. The Nease Panthers took a hard 66-52 fall against the Flagler Palm Coast Bulldogs on Friday. The Panthers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bulldogs apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January of 2024.

Despite the loss, Nease saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Luke Lindsay went 5 of 8 en route to 18 points. Those 18 points set a new season-high mark for Lindsay. Another player making a difference was Langston Hackworth, who posted five points in addition to five rebounds and three steals.

Flagler Palm Coast was led to victory by Anthony Hampton and Nateshawn Royal. Hampton went 8 for 16 on his way to 27 points, while Royal made all 5 shots he took to post 14 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jasiah Sanders, who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten boards.

With the defeat, Nease broke their five-game winning streak and moved their record to 8-9. As for Flagler Palm Coast, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-7.

Nease wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 71-37 loss against Impact Christian Academy on the 11th. As for Flagler Palm Coast, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 54-49 win against DeLand on the 14th.
