Softball Game Preview: Pickerington North Panthers vs. Central Crossing Comets

The Pickerington North Panthers will head out to face off against the Central Crossing Comets at 5:15 p.m. on Monday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

Pickerington North is headed into the game having just suffered their closest loss since April 15, 2024 on Saturday. They fell just short of Symmes Valley by a score of 4-2.

Pickerington North saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Addison Mickey, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and one run.

Meanwhile, Central Crossing lost 9-3 to Little Miami on Friday.

Lindsay Russell made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with two runs and one triple.

Pickerington North's record now sits at 4-9. As for Central Crossing, their record is now 6-4.

Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Monday. Pickerington North hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.5 home runs per game. However, it's not like Central Crossing struggles in that department as they've been averaging 0.7 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.

Pickerington North came up short against Central Crossing in their previous matchup last Wednesday, falling 4-0. Can the Panthers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
