Baseball Recap: Sickles Now 12-2 over Last 14 Games

Sickles won the last time they faced Blake and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Gryphons blew past the Yellow Jackets 17-2. The result was nothing new for the Gryphons, who have now won eight matches by seven runs or more so far this season.

Peter Tsikouris looked comfortable as he pitched 3.1 innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Charlie Martz, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaden Nazar, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.

Sickles was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. The last time their batting average was this high was back in May of 2024.

Sickles is on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 14 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-5 record this season. As for Blake, they dropped their record down to 3-17 with the defeat, which was their sixth straight on the road.

Coming up, Sickles will take on Gaither at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Cowboys' pitching crew has only allowed 3.7 runs per game this season, so the Gryphons' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Blake, they will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Middleton at 7:00 p.m. The Tigers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 13.33 runs per game on average), something the Yellow Jackets will no doubt try to take advantage of.
