It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but the Dublin Scioto Irish ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They snuck past Worthington Kilbourne with a 50-45 win. That's another feather in the cap for Dublin Scioto, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Niah Smedley continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 13 points and 12 rebounds. The game was her sixth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Alec Rothe, who scored five points along with ten rebounds and seven blocks.
Dublin Scioto's win bumped their record up to 2-4. As for Worthington Kilbourne, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-5.
Dublin Scioto will head out on the road to face off against Westland at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Westland is out to stop a three-game streak of losses at home. Worthington Kilbourne will be home for the holidays to greet Hayes at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Ohio (Hayes is ranked 567th, while Worthington Kilbourne is ranked 552nd).
