Preview: Paintsville vs. Pikeville
Paintsville may have come out ahead in their last matchup, but they shouldn't get too cocky given who is up next. They will go up against Pikeville in continuing playoff action on Friday. Averaging 44.75 points per contest, the Paintsville squad has been an offensive juggernaut in the playoffs, so hopefully Pikeville's defense is prepared for a test.
Paintsville earned some more postseason success in their game last Friday. They blew past Kentucky Country Day 44-20.
Meanwhile, if there were any doubts about the heavy odds in favor of Pikeville coming into their contest against Holy Cross last week, the team laid those doubts to rest. Pikeville took their game against Holy Cross by a conclusive 36-7 score.
The last time the two teams met in September, the Tigers and the Panthers were neck-and-neck, but the Tigers came up empty-handed with a 9-8 loss. Can the Tigers avenge their defeat, or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll soon find out.
