Fairbanks came tearing into Saturday's contest with ten straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9.6 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against the Jonathan Alder Pioneers by a score of 12-9. For the Panthers, this counts as revenge for the 12-1 victory the Pioneers walked away with the last time they faced one another back in May of 2016.

The team relied heavily on Claire Meihls, who went 1-for-5 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Kyah Hendren also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Fairbanks was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .415. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .379 or higher in five consecutive matches.

Fairbanks pushed their record up to 12-1 with the win, which was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.9 runs on average over those games. As for Jonathan Alder, they moved to 8-8 with that defeat, which also ended their four-game winning streak.

Coming up, Fairbanks will look to defend their home field on Monday against Northeastern at 5:00 p.m. The Panthers are facing the Jets at the right time seeing as the Jets are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Jonathan Alder, they will head out to face off against Bellefontaine at 5:15 p.m. on Monday. The Chieftains have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.42 runs per game on average), something the Pioneers will no doubt try to take advantage of.
