Baseball Recap: Marysville Comes Up Short

The home team had won the previous four meetings between Marysville and Olentangy, and Olentangy kept the tradition alive. The Monarchs took a 6-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Braves on Thursday. The Monarchs were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Braves earlier this season, when they won 2-0.

Marysville has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-8 record this season. As for Olentangy, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 14-6.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Marysville will take on rival Olentangy Berlin at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Monarchs 3.7, the Bears 2.5) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Olentangy is set to challenge their familiar foe Dublin Jerome at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The timing is sure in the Braves' favor as the squad sits on four straight wins at home while the Celtics have been banged up by six consecutive losses on the road.
