Truckee won the last time they faced Elko and things went their way on Friday too. The Wolverines managed a 20-14 win over the Indians. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Wolverines' disadvantage in MaxPreps' football rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 145th in California, while the Indians are ranked tenth in Nevada).

Truckee's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Ivan Esparza, who rushed for 137 yards and one score.
