It was a proper cat-fight when Central Texas Christian took on Covenant Christian on Thursday. The Lions took their matchup with ease, bagging a 49-8 victory over the Cougars. Considering the Lions have won six games by more than 39 points this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Despite the loss, Covenant Christian still got an impressive performance from Preston VanHouse, who rushed for 183 yards and one TD while picking up 8.3 yards per carry. The Cougars also got help from Brady McDaniel, who showed off his sure hands for 96 receiving yards.

Central Texas Christian pushed their record up to 7-1 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season. The road victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 13.4 points on average over those games. As for Covenant Christian, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-5.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Central Texas Christian will face off against Sacred Heart at 2:00 p.m. on November 1. As for Covenant Christian, they will square off against Brazos Christian at 7:00 p.m. on the 31st. The Eagles' defense has only allowed 9.3 points per game this season, so the Cougars' offense will have their work cut out for them.
