Recap: Cross Trojans vs. St. John's Islanders

The Cross Trojans can now show off five landslide victories after their most recent game on Friday. Everything went their way against St. John as Cross made off with a 58-36 victory. The win was nothing new for Cross as they're now sitting on four straight.

St. John's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Kaniya Smith, who scored 14 points along with six assists and four steals. Another player making a difference was Daeshia Buford, who scored ten points along with six steals.

Cross' victory was their ninth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-3. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.0 points per game. As for St. John's, they now have a losing record at 7-8.

Cross will look to defend their home court on Monday against Military Magnet Academy at 6:30 p.m. Military Magnet Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past seven games -- so hopefully Cross likes a good challenge. As for St. John's, they will head out on the road to challenge Lowcountry Leadership at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Lowcountry Leadership is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
