Basketball Game Preview: Brookville Blue Devils vs. Valley View Spartans

The Brookville Blue Devils just played yesterday, but they'll still head out to face the Valley View Spartans at 7:15 p.m. on Saturday. Brookville has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 174 points over their last three matches.

On Friday, Brookville came up short against Oakwood and fell 67-57. While losing is never fun, the Blue Devils can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 493rd, while the Lumberjacks are ranked 158th).

Meanwhile, Valley View was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single point away from ending the streak, but they lost a 63-62 heartbreaker at the hands of Carlisle. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Tuesday (57), the Spartans still had to take the loss.

Valley View's loss dropped their record down to 13-8. As for Brookville, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-12.

Brookville was able to grind out a solid victory over Valley View in their previous matchup back in January, winning 64-52. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Valley View's Ty Fritz, who dropped a double-double with 20 points and 15 rebounds.
