Volleyball Recap: Hanover Area Hawkeyes vs. Wyoming Area Warriors
Hanover Area was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 3-0 to the Wyoming Area Warriors. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Hawkeyes of the 3-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2023.
Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 25-12, 25-7.
Wyoming Area found their leader in underclassman Kenzie Galenty, who had 11 aces and ten digs. Those 11 aces set a new season-high mark for her. Another player making a difference was Madison Spittel, who had five aces.
Hanover Area's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Wyoming Area, their victory ended a five-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-3.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hanover Area will challenge Tunkhannock at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Wyoming Area, they will square off against MMI Preparatory School at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. MMI Preparatory School is coming into the game with three straight wins at home, so Wyoming Area will have to stop a squad with plenty of momentum.
