Softball Recap: Canton Warriors vs. Wyalusing Valley Rams
Canton extended their losing streak to six on Thursday, dropping their season record down to 1-9 in the process. They came up short against the Wyalusing Valley Rams, falling 15-3. If the Warriors were looking for revenge after losing 13-7 to the Rams when the teams met back in May of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.
Canton saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Tara Gilbert, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI.
As for Wyalusing Valley, their victory ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 5-6. That 12 run margin sets a new team best for them this season.
On Wyalusing Valley's side, they got a massive performance out of Rachel Wilson, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one double. Those four hits gave Wilson a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Addisyn Bly, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with four runs, one triple, and one RBI.
Canton wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, a 17-2 win against Millville on the 19th. As for Wyalusing Valley, they have also already played their next contest, a 3-0 victory against Wyoming Area on the 18th.
