Soccer Game Preview: Westside vs. Academy of Richmond County

The Westside Patriots will face off against the Academy of Richmond County Musketeers at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Westside has given up an average of 6.3 goals per game this season, so hopefully the team got some defensive drills in this week.

Westside lost 9-2 to Baldwin on Thursday. The Patriots have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Ama Darko and Malyah Hayes scored both of Westside's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 21 goals.

Meanwhile, Academy of Richmond County had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7.3 goals) and they went ahead and made it four on Thursday. They came out on top against the Fightin' Irish by a score of 4-2.

Academy of Richmond County's win bumped their record up to 6-1. As for Westside, their loss dropped their record down to 3-6.

Westside might still be hurting after the 10-0 defeat they got from Academy of Richmond County when the teams last played back in January of 2022. Can Westside avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
