Baseball Game Preview: Ben Holt College Prep Academy Bobcats vs. Liberty Ranch Hawks

The Ben Holt College Prep Academy Bobcats will face off against the Liberty Ranch Hawks at 2:00 p.m. on Monday. Ben Holt College Prep Academy has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the contest with four straight losses, while Liberty Ranch will come in with 12 straight wins.

Ben Holt College Prep Academy fell victim to Venture Academy and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They came up short against the Mustangs, falling 11-0. The matchup marked the first time this season in which the Bobcats were not able to get on the board.

Meanwhile, Liberty Ranch narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Rosemont 4-3.

Kade Lecompte was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out nine batters over six innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits (and not a single walk). He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

Lecompte wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Cole Erias, who scored a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Liberty Ranch pushed their record up to 14-4-1 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.6 runs on average over those games. As for Ben Holt College Prep Academy, they now have a losing record of 4-5.

Ben Holt College Prep Academy suffered a grim 6-0 defeat to Liberty Ranch in their previous meeting back in March of 2024. Can the Bobcats avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
