Softball Game Preview: Liberty Christian Lions vs. Tindley Tigers

Liberty Christian is on a four-game streak of home losses, and Tindley a seven-game streak of away losses dating back to last season. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Saturday. The Liberty Christian Lions will be taking part in a tournament against the Tindley Tigers. Liberty Christian is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.5 runs per game this season.

Liberty Christian took a ten-run loss the last time they faced off against Traders Point Christian, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Lions came out on top in a nail-biter against the Knights on Tuesday, sneaking past 4-3.

Ellie Callahan spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on six hits and racked up ten Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Claire Callahan was excellent, going 2-for-3 with three runs and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Avari Stanley, who went 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Tindley lost 18-5 to Mooresville Christian on Thursday.

Liberty Christian's victory bumped their record up to 5-7. As for Tindley, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-7.
