Recap: Lowry Buckaroos vs. Fernley Vaqueros
After flying high against the Dayton Dust Devils on Friday, the Lowry Buckaroos came back down to earth. Lowry fell to Fernley 66-60. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Lowry in their matchups with Fernley: they've now lost seven in a row.
Several Buckaroos players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Dempsey Jenkins, who scored 17 points along with five rebounds. Jenkins continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Jaden Jimenez was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with two steals.
Lowry has traveled a rocky road recently having lost 11 of their last 12 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-15 record this season. As for Fernley, the win was the 16th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 23-2.
Lowry does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Fernley, they will be playing at home against North Valleys at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Fernley is coming into the match with 15 straight victories at home, so North Valleys is out to stop a team with plenty of momentum.
