Volleyball Recap: Saugus Comes Up Short

Saugus and Rancho Alamitos squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Saugus had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Vaqueros by a score of 3-2.

Saugus took Rancho Alamitos into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking two-point loss. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-16, 25-22, 23-25, 22-25, 18-16.

Saugus' loss dropped their record down to 20-16. As for Rancho Alamitos, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-9 record this season.

Saugus does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Rancho Alamitos, they will take on Vista Murrieta at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Broncos will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Vaqueros surely won't give up without a fight.
