Basketball Recap: 11 Straight Home Wins for Cromwell

Cromwell entered their tilt with South Ridge on Thursday with two consecutive wins , and they'll enter their next game with three. They blew past the South Ridge Panthers 69-36. Given the Cardinals' advantage in MaxPreps' Minnesota basketball rankings (they are ranked 99th, while the Panthers are ranked 313th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Cromwell's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Isabella Anderson led the charge by almost dropping a double-double with 18 points and nine boards. Anderson's evening made it three games in a row in which she has scored at least 16 points. Another player making a difference was Shannon Lund, who dropped a double-double with 13 points and ten rebounds.

Cromwell smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 14 offensive rebounds in four consecutive games.

Cromwell pushed their record up to 20-3 with the victory, which was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.8 points over those games. As for South Ridge, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-12.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cromwell will host Barnum at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. As for South Ridge, a feisty cat fight will be fought as the Panthers challenge the Tigers at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
