Baseball Game Preview: Laguna Beach Breakers vs. Calvary Chapel Eagles

Laguna Beach has gone a perfect 10-0 against Calvary Chapel recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Laguna Beach Breakers will take on the Calvary Chapel Eagles in a tournament on Thursday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Laguna Beach saw some tournament action on Tuesday. They walked away with a 4-1 victory over Valley Christian. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Breakers.

Lucien Reed made a splash no matter where he played. He pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Reed was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in RBI.

Reed wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Lincoln Adams, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.

Meanwhile, Calvary Chapel had to kick off their season on the road on Tuesday, but they showed no ill effects. They never let Esperanza onto the board and left with a 2-0 win.

Laguna Beach skirted past Calvary Chapel 6-5 in their previous meeting back in March of 2021. The rematch might be a little tougher for Laguna Beach since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
