Softball Recap: Pewaukee Finds Playoff Glory Versus Whitnall

Pewaukee had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Whitnall Falcons on Thursday, sneaking past 4-2. That's two games straight that the Pirates have won by exactly two runs.

Harper Gould was excellent, going 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

The victory (which was Pewaukee's fourth in a row) raised their record to 20-9. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. As for Whitnall, with the loss, they broke their seven-game winning streak and moved their record to 24-7.

Looking ahead, Pewaukee will challenge Turner on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Pirates 3.6, the Trojans 1.5) so any runs scored will be well earned. Whitnall does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
