Baseball Recap: Nicholas County Takes a Loss

Nicholas County managed to slip by Shady Spring the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Grizzlies came up short against the Tigers on Wednesday, falling 20-7. The Grizzlies were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Tigers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.

Caleb Burns was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.

This is the second loss in a row for Nicholas County and nudges their season record down to 5-5. As for Shady Spring, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-8-1.

Looking ahead, Nicholas County will take on Braxton County at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Shady Spring, they will welcome Elkins at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
