Huntingdon never let their opponents score on Friday. They claimed a resounding 35-0 victory over the Camden Central Lions. Given the Mustangs' advantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee football rankings (they are ranked 49th, while the Lions are ranked 200th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Huntingdon's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Colt Wood, who rushed for 119 yards and one score on only eight carries. Those 119 rushing yards gave Wood a new career-high. Kenton Smith was another key rusher, rushing for 55 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Huntingdon has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it. The victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 21 points this season. As for Camden Central, they dropped their record down to 1-1 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season.

Huntingdon wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 34-9 loss against Milan on the 5th. As for Camden Central, they have also already played their next game, a 21-0 defeat against Dyersburg on the 5th.
