Recap: Sweet Water Bulldogs vs. Choctaw County Tigers
The Sweet Water Bulldogs's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fifth straight loss. They were the victim of a tough 52-29 loss at the hands of Choctaw County. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat Sweet Water has suffered against Choctaw County since January 7, 2021.
Leading Choctaw County to victory were Kamya Straight and India Graham. Straight scored 18 points along with seven rebounds and five steals, while Graham scored 15 points along with eight rebounds and five steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Straight has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Alyssa Thomas, who scored six points along with two steals.
Sweet Water has been struggling recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-10 record this season. As for Choctaw County, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-9.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sweet Water will take on Marengo at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Marengo is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last four games. Choctaw County won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Millry at 6:00 p.m. on January 24th. Millry comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 20 points in their last nine games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse.
