Softball Recap: Jefferson Takes a Loss

Jefferson had lost eight straight on the road, but on Friday they dropped their record down to 0-14 to make it nine. They lost 15-4 to the Blanchet Catholic Cavaliers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Cavaliers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 19-4 back in April.

As for Blanchet Catholic, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-11. They not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since April 8th (when they won 19-4).

For Blanchet Catholic's part, they let Finley Bartels and Carly Wise run wild. Bartels went 1-for-3 with one home run, two stolen bases, and three RBI, while Wise went a perfect 2-for-2 with three stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. That's the most stolen bases Wise has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Kinzley Serverance, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

While Jefferson had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
