Softball Recap: Paulding Panthers vs. Hicksville Aces

Paulding barely beat Hicksville the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Panthers blew past the Aces 10-3 on Thursday. Considering the Panthers have won four games by more than six runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Tia Mendez made a big impact no matter where she played. She struck out 13 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off nine hits. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in April of 2024. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs.

In other batting news, Marley Parrett and Civil Pumphrey did most of the damage at the plate: Parrett went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double, while Pumphrey went 3-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base.
