Basketball Recap: Clear Creek Skates Past West Grand with Ease + How To Watch

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Clear Creek). They claimed a resounding 75-43 victory over the West Grand Mustangs. The win continues a trend for the Golddiggers in their matchups with the Mustangs: they've now won eight in a row.

Clear Creek was led to victory by Zephyr Schuessler and Donovan Duke. Schuessler shot 6-for-10 from downtown and dropped a double-double with 30 points and ten assists, while Duke almost dropped a double-double with 28 points and nine boards. The game was Schuessler's fifth in a row with at least 18 points. Joey Lupinacci also deserves some recognition as he scored his first points of the season.

They weren't the only ones working in the assist department: Clear Creek was working as a unit and finished the game with 23 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

The victory was their first at home , bumping their record up to 2-3. As for West Grand, they are on an eight-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-7.

Clear Creek will take on Addenbrooke Classical Academy in a holiday battle at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Golddiggers will be up against the Mustangs' rather soft defense (which has allowed 52.8 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. West Grand and Sanford will compete for holiday cheer at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
