Softball Recap: Thursday's Victory Is Lakewood's Sixth in Last Eight Outings

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Lakewood and Long Beach Poly meet (three straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Thursday. The Lancers walked away with a 9-5 win over the Jackrabbits. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Lancers also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2024.

Lakewood has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 8-8 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.5 runs over those games. As for Long Beach Poly, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-4.

Lakewood wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, an 11-3 loss against Millikan on the 8th. As for Long Beach Poly, they have also already played their next game, a 23-16 win against Saint Joseph on the 5th.
