Football Game Preview: Warrior Run Defenders vs. Milton Black Panthers

Two dominant backs in Denyn Beachel and Montgomery Fisher are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Warrior Run Defenders will take on the Milton Black Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Warrior Run will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.

Warrior Run's defense heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They breezed past Central Columbia to the tune of 56-0. The result was nothing new for the Defenders, who have now won four matchups by 28 points or more so far this season.

Warrior Run's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from James Keifer, who threw for 198 yards and four TDs while completing 87.5% of his passes. Those 198 passing yards gave Keifer a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Cohen Zechman, who picked up 126 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Warrior Run was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 217 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 157 rushing yards in seven consecutive games.

Warrior Run didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Maxwell Fogelman.

Meanwhile, Milton played a tough contest on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They came up short against Mount Carmel, falling 48-25. The Black Panthers haven't had much luck with the RED TORNADOES recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Warrior Run's record is now 8-1. As for Milton, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-6.

Friday's matchup might be decided on the ground. Warrior Run has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 200.8 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Milton struggles in that department as they've been averaging 200.1 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's game turns into a tough fight on the ground.

Warrior Run couldn't quite get it done against Milton when the teams last played back in October of 2024 as they fell 20-13. Can the Defenders avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
