Baseball Recap: Normandy Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Normandy can now relate to. They fell just short of the Hoover Vikings by a score of 1-0 on Tuesday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Vikings this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 6-3 back in April.

Normandy has also been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-16 record this season. That patch can't be blamed on the team's pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Hoover, their record is now 15-12.

Normandy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Hoover, they will face off against Washington at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Tigers' pitching crew has only allowed 3.9 runs per game this season, so the Vikings' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
