Softball Recap: Columbia Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Columbia can now relate to. They fell just short of the Fort Walton Beach Vikings by a score of 4-3 on Tuesday.

Columbia saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kimber Long, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI.

Columbia's defeat dropped their record down to 15-12. As for Fort Walton Beach, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 20-8.

Columbia does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Fort Walton Beach, they will take on Arnold at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Marlins' pitching crew has only allowed two runs per game this season, so the Vikings' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
