Softball Recap: Palmetto Extends Home Winning Streak to Four

Palmetto won the last time they faced Northeast and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Tigers walked away with a 4-1 victory over the Vikings. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Tigers.

MaKenna Lee spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on one hit and racked up 16 Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than nine strikeouts in 12 consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Palmetto's win was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Kalen Capps, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

Palmetto hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Northeast struck out 16 times.

Palmetto pushed their record up to 12-6 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.3 runs over those games. As for Northeast, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-6.

Coming up, Palmetto will venture away from home to square off against Parrish Community at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Bulls will roll in looking for their 13th straight victory, something the Tigers surely won't give up without a fight. As for Northeast, they will welcome Tarpon Springs at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
