Soccer Recap: Wednesday's Loss Ends Midd-West's Winning Streak

While it was all tied up 1-1 at halftime, Midd-West was not quite Central Mountain's equal in the second half on Wednesday. They fell just short of the Wildcats by a score of 2-1. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Midd-West came into the matchup with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania soccer rankings (they are ranked 25th, while Central Mountain are ranked 134th).

Midd-West's goal came courtesy of Nathan Horst, who's now up to four this season.

With the defeat, Midd-West broke their six-match winning streak and moved their record to 13-2-1. As for Central Mountain, their victory bumped their record up to 8-5-3.

Coming up, Midd-West will welcome Warrior Run at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (Midd-West have won three straight at home, while Warrior Run won four straight on the road), something that'll have to change. As for Central Mountain, they will venture away from home to square off against Altoona at 7:30 p.m. on the 16th.
