Basketball Game Preview: South Paulding Spartans vs. Rome Wolves

The South Paulding Spartans are taking a road trip to take on the Rome Wolves at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in South Paulding's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last five matchups.

On Saturday, South Paulding earned a 57-49 win over Pope.

Meanwhile, Rome didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Cartersville on Saturday, but they still walked away with a 77-73 victory. Given the Wolves' advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 61st, while the Hurricanes are ranked 310th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Rome has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.4 points per game. As for South Paulding, their win bumped their record up to 10-4.

South Paulding came up short against Rome in their previous meeting back in February of 2022, falling 69-58. Can South Paulding avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
