Basketball Game Preview: Mitchell Bluejackets vs. Perry Central Commodores

Mitchell and Perry Central are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2015, but not for long. The Mitchell Bluejackets will look to defend their home court on Friday against the Perry Central Commodores at 8:00 p.m. Mitchell knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past three matches -- so hopefully Perry Central likes a good challenge.

Mitchell is headed into the game having just posted their biggest victory since December 27, 2024 on Tuesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Medora 76-49.

Meanwhile, it was close, but on Saturday Perry Central sidestepped West Washington for a 45-43 win. Given the Commodores' advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 142nd, while the Senators are ranked 297th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Perry Central has also been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season. As for Mitchell, their victory bumped their record up to 10-7.

Mitchell skirted past Perry Central 54-52 in their previous meeting back in January of 2024. Will Mitchell repeat their success, or does Perry Central have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
