Volleyball Game Preview: Denver Waldorf Spartans vs. Thomas Jefferson Spartans

Denver Waldorf will head out on the road to challenge Thomas Jefferson at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Denver Waldorf will be strutting in after a victory while Thomas Jefferson will be coming in after a defeat.

If Vail Christian wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Denver Waldorf, they should've done a better job of containing Avery Monden. The Spartans blew past the Saints 3-0 on Saturday thanks in part to Monden, who had 12 digs and four aces. Monden is crushing it when it comes to digs: he's had at least 11 every time he's taken the court this season.

While Denver Waldorf won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the third set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 25-18, 25-23.

Meanwhile, Thomas Jefferson unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Friday. They fell 3-1 to Denver South.

The final score came out to 25-13, 22-25, 25-14, 25-15.

Thomas Jefferson's loss dropped their record down to 13-8. As for Denver Waldorf, their win bumped their record up to 12-2.

Denver Waldorf skirted past Thomas Jefferson 3-2 in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for Denver Waldorf since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
