Basketball Game Preview: Salado Eagles vs. Lampasas Badgers

The Salado Eagles will venture away from home to challenge the Lampasas Badgers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.

Last Friday, Salado was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 47-41 to Burnet. The Eagles have struggled against the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Meanwhile, Lampasas came tearing into Tuesday's contest with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 12.8 points) and they left with even more momentum. They managed a 34-29 win over the Cougars. Given the Badgers' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 400th, while the Cougars are ranked 1120th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Lampasas' victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 22-8. As for Salado, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-17.

Salado came up short against Lampasas in their previous meeting two weeks ago, falling 49-45. Can Salado avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
