Softball Recap: Cardinal Spellman Triumphs

Cardinal Spellman gave up the first runs on Thursday, but they didn't let that get them down. They skirted past Notre Dame of Manhattan 5-4. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Pilots.

Danielle Sanchez spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and two unearned) runs on four hits and racked up 12 Ks.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on August Woodson, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and two runs. Another player making a difference was Danielle Conforme, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two doubles.

Cardinal Spellman now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Notre Dame of Manhattan, their loss dropped their record down to 11-2.

Cardinal Spellman does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Notre Dame of Manhattan, they will challenge Maria Regina at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
