Baseball Game Preview: Aragon Dons vs. Mountain View Spartans

The Aragon Dons will take on the Mountain View Spartans at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Aragon 2.7, Mountain View 3.8) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Last Thursday, Aragon got the win against El Camino by a conclusive 8-2.

Josh Jacobs made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He pitched four innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits. What's more, he posted five strikeouts, the most he's had since back in May of 2024. He was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 3-for-4.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jordan Kiaaina, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Saxon Lucia was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-2.

Aragon kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, Mountain View was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 9-3 to Los Gatos. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Spartans have suffered since March 27, 2024.

Mountain View also got a good showing from Makaio Mo'Unga, who tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.

At the plate, Mountain View saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Austin Xu, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Mountain View's loss dropped their record down to 9-5. As for Aragon, their win bumped their record up to 4-6.
