Basketball Recap: Vallejo Comes Up Short

Vallejo lost against Pittsburg back in December of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Vallejo Redhawks fell 59-50 to the Pittsburg Pirates. While losing is never fun, the Redhawks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 770th, while the Pirates are ranked 348th).

Pittsburg can attribute much of their success to Kahlil Bernard, who posted 13 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jamar Searcy, who had six points.

Vallejo has been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-9 record this season. As for Pittsburg, their win ended a six-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 5-4.

Vallejo wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 57-48 defeat against Miramonte on the 2nd. As for Pittsburg, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 47-45 loss against Monte Vista on the 3rd.
