Volleyball Recap: Freeman Falcons vs. Johnson County Central Thunderbirds

There's no place like home for Freeman, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Wednesday. They walked away with a 3-1 win over the Johnson County Central Thunderbirds on Saturday. This was payback for the Falcons, who suffered a 3-2 loss the last time these two teams met.

Freeman had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The final score came out to 23-25, 25-20, 25-23, 25-11.

Alicia Johansen paced Freeman's offense, picking up 13 kills. Johansen got some help from Aniston Bartunek and her 31 assists. Ruby Goes controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Despite the defeat, Johnson County Central saw an underclassman step up: freshman Reese Carter had 12 digs.

Freeman's victory bumped their record up to 26-4. As for Johnson County Central, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 23-7.

Freeman wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 3-1 loss against Thayer Central on the 7th. Johnson County Central does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
