Baseball Recap: Franklin Picks Up Fifth Consecutive Victory

Franklin waltzed into their matchup on Saturday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They were the clear victors by a 7-1 margin over the Walled Lake Central Vikings. The result was nothing new for the Patriots, who have now won 16 games by six runs or more so far this season.

Anthony Flora spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on four hits and racked up six Ks.

At the plate, Andrew Mullins was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Braylin Bynum was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI.

Franklin was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .471. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .471 or higher in three consecutive contests.

Franklin's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 22-5-1. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.8 runs on average over those games. As for Walled Lake Central, with the defeat, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 10-9-1.

Franklin will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Vikings: the pair will be back at it again later today.
