Baseball Recap: Salida Comes Up Short

Salida saw some tournament action on Friday. They took a 13-9 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Steamboat Springs Sailors. The Spartans have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Salida saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brody Hudson, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most runs Hudson has posted since back in April of 2024. Matthew Edgington also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Salida now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Steamboat Springs, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season.

Salida will be taking part in a tournament against Meeker at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Steamboat Springs, they will take on Olathe in a tournament on Saturday. Olathe will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Steamboat Springs surely won't give up without a fight.
